However, as the story unfolded, the project grew to include his family, friends and hometown of Midlothian, Texas. It grew beyond the bounds of the white chair and into a short documentary film capturing the life Ethan embodied – courage through suffering that inspired an entire community. Ethan’s story is bigger than one boy. It’s about a family and a community intertwined in something larger – a journey called life that we take together. When that journey leads us to the darkest of places, we discover that even just a small amount of light can overcome it.
