Due to a lack of oxygen, he was born prematurely and hooked up to machines to help him survive. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and was told he was tetraplegic – the doctors said he’d spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair, unable to live independently. However, his parents wanted to do everything in their power to help him maximize his potential and live without limitations. At 9 months old, Angelo began daily intensive physical therapy. For the first 17 years of his life, physical therapy was priority #1. At 14 years old, an injury caused Angelo to use a wheelchair for 2 years. After working so hard to create an active lifestyle, he was once again told by his doctors that his chances of walking again were less that 20%. This is when Angelo discovered the drums. Drumming lit a fire within him and became his motivation to work towards getting better. “My disability really didn’t matter, I just knew I was going to be a drummer.” Angelo’s passion for music led him to attend Los Angeles College of Music and get a Bachelor’s of Music with an emphasis in Drum Performance. Angelo has overcome a disability that could have taken over his life. Instead, he is a drummer in several bands, a motivational speaker, and an active fitness enthusiast. Angelo believes that everything starts with a positive mindset and that this has been his key to success. Angelo Pentaris has never given up, he has never stopped trying, and he has never taken “no” for an answer. “My goal with these videos is to inspire people to be the best version of themselves. Disability or not, I want to encourage you to find your passion and pursue it fearlessly. I wanted to share my motivation with others to help people find their passion and, in turn, inspire others themselves.”
