I think the Niagara Region has three declared emergencies simultaneously. There is the climate emergency, the homeless emergency and now the too many visitors emergency. Will they be surprised if, during an actual emergency, the public just shrugs their shoulders and carry on?

In Niagara it was so cloudy the only way you can see any part of the eclipse at all was by looking at it without using the glasses! If you used the glasses it was too dim to see, so we all just stared at it without them. Nobody went blind.

Some children (and adults too) are not very safety conscious or likely to comply. It's one thing to sneak a peek or two, it's another to stare for several minutes. Over capacity crowds and traffic are problematic.

My kids live in the New Tecumseh region, and they have the day off school π I'm taking them to Niagara Falls to watch the eclipse. If no one hears from us again, u know why
