Makes me think of an Alkan mashup of Rach 23/5 and the Appassionata

bruh only Alkan would throw in a SEVEN-NOTE CHORD into his music for JUST the left hand to play even though the performer’s using ALL of their limbs to play lmao

There's a huge difference: the pedals are like piano keys! If you stomp different the notes sound different, you cannot simply depress a lever like an organinst, you cannot slide lightly between heel an toes for speed pedalling. Like a Baroque organists you are going to use only toe pedalling.

I play piano (not at this level ever!) and I really like the music showing while the pianist plays it, shows what it's supposed to sound like.

I remember watching this rarity about a year ago. It’s a very cool piece.

Hang on a minute. There's a piano with pedals controlling notes?! Why did I not know about this?!

The beginning of this piece is similar to Rachmaninoff's prelude in G minor. I even thought that the two works were combined at first :D
