You should try this if you're on version #2053 of the same mix! 🎛️

1. Export the stems
2. Import them into a blank session
3. Pull the faders to zero
4. Start by pulling up the most important elements first, such as the kick, bass, and vocals
5. Rebalance from there

You'll be shocked at home different the mix sounds

The biggest mixing tip you can learn is know when to stop and call it done. You can go months tweaking and adjusting things and the mix will never be done. Every time you hear it, oh this could use some more gain, I could turn this down. etc etc. Thats how you end up with mix version 2055 in the first place. Also take a 10 min break every hour to reset your ears and never make any major mixing and mastering decisions late in the day, wait for tomorrow with a fresh pair of ears.

The best mixing tips are things like this. It's never very specific techniques, but always ways to set yourself up in a better position to make better decisions.

Yeah, this absolutely works for me! Also try showing it to someone and watch their reaction to the different moments in the track. And if u feel like "apologizing" for something in the track then it means that theres an issue that needs fixing, do not ignore it.

Great tip. I do this all the time and you can always go back to the original project and re bounce any stems that you need to fix.

lol mix number 2053 😂 seriously great advice tho, thank you Streaky, i appreciate you. I tried this tip and it really does give you a fresh approach to mix from scratch, and it just saves so much time and energy and general messing around (and electricity too lol) keep well

Noice! Micro mixing is a rabbit hole with no bottom. Broad strokes and balance with volume is the most important thing. If the sounds are chosen correctly, the easier it is to mix. If you're spending a week going back and forth.. there's something that needs to go.

Even If I had cliping stems I need to export them or slove the problems first?

When we do this, would it also be a good idea to disable all of our plugins before exporting the stems to a new blank daw?
