I'm open to this idea of residual energy left behind that manifests in different ways. I live in a house that was a rental property for decades before I moved in. At first my husband and I were just using it as a weekend getaway house and we'd come up here and both of us would swear we could hear a very, very faint, almost imperceptible sound, of like conversations just out of hearing. You could almost make out different voices and kind of the static found between radio stations but you could never quite grasp it and make sense of it. This house was filled with the buzzing energy of the dozens and dozens of people who lived here over many years, I'm convinced. They were transient people who left behind this transient unsettle energy. Eventually it just dissipated. I suspect that in a way, my energy over-wrote it. Like the magnetic memory of a computer gets overwritten. That's my theory.

Agree with the residual energy still staying around. I lived in a house where it existed. I am not so sure about the type of ghost stories where there seem to be spirits that are aware of people in the here and now and have every intent to try to communicate with them, some people have said that a spirit has even spoken to them. Time slip?
