This is a little clip from my recent vlog talking about the return of my period, the fear of seeing blood, and how it feels like the emotions are catching up to me.

Hi, I'm Maggie and I have Crohn's disease. I am thrilled to be here sharing my personal experiences with Inflammatory Bowel Disease as well as living with an ostomy. I'm proud to share a little bit from a clinical experience as well, having worked as a GI pediatric nurse and ostomy telehealth nurse. I am so glad you are here. โ™ฅ #ibd #crohnsdisease #ostomy

You will remember forever, but you will go on. You will cry some days, but you will go on. ๐Ÿ’•

I have had 2 second trimester miscarriages where my babies died. You never โ€œget over itโ€ but in time you learn how to live with it. Just give yourself time. โ™ฅ๏ธ

You are in a season of grieving. I have been there. Wanting something so bad and it being rip away from you. I was at 20 weeks before a doctor did anything for me. And when the easiest part was over โ€œ the surgeryโ€. I spent anytime at home in bed for 3 months. It may take awhile and thatโ€™s ok you lost the most precious thing in life.

My older sister had an ectopic, and the foetal tissue itself became a cancer, so she lost one fallopian tube. She was then about 40 and thought she had seen her last chance go by. Later she fell pregnant with one tube and one ovary, which she carried to full term but baby needed surgery for pyloric stenosis, a condition his father had also had as a bubby. All our journeys are different, but you are making an incredible contribution for young people living with IBD across the world. My best wishes to you for your humanity and generosity, and for achieving in your life much of what you hope.

Grief is being attacked by an armed assailant who knows not to go after the safe because what you hold most cherished isn't in there. Your memories are invisible to anyone you're not ready to let in. You are so good at caring others are helped by your content. May you find peace and healing in the same generosity shown by you ๐Ÿ’›

I'm sorry you went through this ๐Ÿฅบ I had an ectopic in 2009 and I lost my left tube. There was lots of medical gaslighting too which caused more trauma. But it does get easier with time! I'm wishing you and your husband all the best

I went through menopause due to my Crohns. I was 22. My body went through hell for about 4 years before I was diagnosed. That was in 1993. Crohns wasn't well known like now. I was accused of being anorexic which I WASN'T. I hope things get better for you.โค

After truly traumatic events, the memories may never disappear fully, but slowly, they recede. Gradually, fewer circumstances elicit the painful memories. They emerge a little less often, and stay a slightly shorter time. You get more familiar with the pain, which makes it a bit easier to deal with. Hang in there...
