Let’s play a game: This or that traditional school schedule vs year round school

#1: traditional American school schedule with a months long summer break

OR

#2 year round school with a short summer break and more time off during the school year. For example, these schools tend to have longer fall, winter, and spring breaks or time off between semesters

What are you picking? No wrong answers!

#2….for working parents it is very difficult to afford/arrange childcare during the long summer break. And a lot of kids regress in their math

2 I think the consistent learning would be better for most children. Also child care arrangements issues. Most importantly though if homework could lessen with year round classes so we could have actual family time to teach our children other important life lessons I'd be all for it!

Our school district recently moved to year round too. Which of course means more breaks throughout the year. Which means taking time off at different times than my older boss is comfortable with because "bAcK iN mY dAy." My kids like it and they still get a whole month off. I honestly think it benefits older, middle school aged kids more that really do need more breaks
