Thank you so very much for letting the world know how to live with the challenge of having to live with this issue. I'm now living 13months and 5 days with a colostomy and I feel safe and secure today and at 64 years of age, I can be free!

I have been tubing, flying, swimming, boating, fishing, at parties, visiting other people’s homes, on hay rides, in corn mazes, in a big corn sand box and the list goes on and on. I love life, I live life. I am glad to still be alive and I am the mom and g-ma that does stuff not sit out and watch. I don’t know why people make such a big deal about having a bag? Most people do not even know I have one. Not because I am embarrassed or anything, because it is not an issue.

I was embarrassed at first about my stoma but I learnt not to be after someone asked me about it and I told them the truth. I admire any one who is confident to show there is nothing strange about stoma's. Thank you

Retired nurse here. My husband was only asking about, gut, stomas, surgery this morning following a friend’s issues. Thank you for this. He couldn’t fathom so much out, until I showed him an anatomy image. Sure you’ll find a lot of people very happy about this. Always kept in the dark. Best wishes from Devon UK.

Its amazing how we adapt to what we have to. You changed your bag quickly! I use a one piece deainable bag system and it works for me. Almost 14 years iliostomy person here. (mine was from rectal cancer not Crohn's or UC ir IBS).
