I've heard many top moving coil cartridges.Turntable/cartridge combos around 4 thousand dollars. But 4k years ago; which might translate to 7 thousand dollars today. Moving coil cartridges and some top moving iron cartridges sound way better than moving magnet cartridges, generally speaking. Although I hear there are a few MM's (at very high prices). My cd playback is surer sounding than lp playback and without the noise. My cd playback equipment is more transparent and pure sounding than any expensive cartridge/turntable combo I've heard. Until fairly recently, I preferred lp sound, but my thoughts changed due to advancements in digital. I think lp collectors (of which I still belong) are thinking they have some exclusive and elusive qualities of sound that cd people don't have. They may no longer be right on that. In a way, they're right, as hardly anyone has a cd player like what guys like myself use. But for those of us closer to the ultimate in cd playback, all this searching around for best lp pressings and usually expensive pressings, listening to ticks and pops and inner groove disortion, price gouging etc. all seems like a bunch of nonsense. I like cd playback best. Having heard some expensive cartridge greats in my time, I couldn't even imagine how many thousands of dollars you'd have to spend on a cartridge alone to get the kind of sound that cds are capable of on the best equipment. Your fan base I'm sure is waiting on your video(s). The weekend has passed without them. When will you be airing them?
