I think Mercedes is having a hard time coming to the conclusion that there's zero pods are a disaster. I think it was the central theme of their new car and they now have all the information they need to conclude they don't work. Whether they are holding on and failing to admit that or it's just taking a long time to completely redesign part of the car is the only question I have at this point.
Jacques Villeneuve's comments on Lewis Hamilton not adapting well were, perhaps characteristically undiplomatic, but I think he was right. George will soon be the number one Mercedes driver in all but name.

I think Lewis is just losing motivation. Knowing he can’t compete for victories and the championship, he’s a bit down. While Russell has all the fire in the world to outperform Lewis and show why merc hired him as a driver.

Totally agree, he's consistently going to outperform Hamilton. The real driver measure is how a great driver can get results from an average car not the other way around. His time at Williams in a below par car will stand him in good stead.
