Grant Hardy : “I think we can argue with scripture. 🤔 We can say, ‘that doesn’t make sense to me’ -‘If I take a step back how does it fit with the broader message that’s coming through?’

Nephi like us is an imperfect person and had his own obstacles and struggles, which makes him an amazing and relatable prophet, in their time the words could have an entire different meaning that we just don’t understand from todays perspective. Always be christlike and give the benefit of the doubt instead of searching for every tiny flaw. The gospel is true. We as people are not, turn to god for answers with a sincere heart and have an open mind!

That’s not what Nephi meant by Dark Skin. This has been studied extensively by biblical scholars, who are able to study what language meant in the context of that time frame. We don’t need to apply today’s racism, racist language or ideas, to that time. I don’t care if I’m right or wrong. I’ve just been studying this stuff. I know there are various schools of thought and assumptions on this, though. I respect all speculations on the topic.

All doctrine, churches, faiths have the same aspect: THEY ARE OF MAN !! A man will make MISTAKES!! We can argue and pick apart all things. Your testimony should be build on a relationship with your Father in Heaven, living a Christ - driven life, following the Holy Spirit. If this is the basis of your life then all contradictions are possible but understood beyond your control.

I think it's your lack of understanding what Nephi was actually saying. Define dark. Define blackness Is it the same way we define it today? I'd say no. This is the poorest explanation I've heard.
