ACOTAR is amazing. One of the best series I read. With ACOTAR the first book can be deceptive. It’s written as an old school fairytale so go into it with that mindset. It’s a mixture of a bunch of tales, including the ballad of Tamlin which isn’t super well known. I found 8 tales in there, there’s probably more. It has the typical tropes and problematic plots fairytales have. It’s ok if you don’t like fairytales, the book is written that way on purpose. The rest of the series isn’t like that. You have to read through to the end of book 2 before deciding if you like series. The 1st book will have a different meaning after book 2.
