5 years ago i was driving into tampa over the sky bridge. I saw several planes hovering in place. One was about 100 yards from me. The roof was parallel to the highway. There was a plane 100 feet from the roof hovering. It was so quiet i thought it was a prop on the building. There was no sound at all. Completely quiet.

lmfao we just spent a shit ton on those they were first deployed in 01 and the fleet is still expanding now the navy is buying some to replace the cargo delivery planes on carriers. the Blackhawk is still used and will be used for a long time and those were in use during the 80s. nice click grabber tho 👍

I’ve only ever seen videos of them taking off and landing in places where a traditional fixed wing runway could be accommodated. I’m still trying to find information about why they are so special. Gorgeous yes, but what niche do they inhabit?

The MV-22 Osprey and variants have been my favorite aircraft for years. The trucker of the sky with such incredible capacity, I'm eager to see how they manage to improve on it.
