Employers can not impose on an employee an employment condition that go against human rights or bodily autonomy rights

My employer held morning meetings where she asked every employee what vaccine they are getting and when it was booked. She did this infront of everyone saying it's expected that all employees and volunteers be on board. 2 people declined and those people got their hours cut right back to the point they quit for lack of work. It was a Christian thrift store.

I'm sorry, but the government shouldn't be allowed to mandate that either!

Are you saying that Companies do not have to abide by the Constitution or the Charter of Rights and Freedoms? What is government if they do not pass laws in line with the Constitution to uphold the rights and freedoms of every citizen? If companies are not legally allowed to demand a person's personal medical information or sexual orientation which could discriminate against them then how could they enforce a mandate which the government is not allowed to enforce, who makes the laws based on the Constitution, which is the highest law in Canada, that every citizen and institution must abide by? Human rights must be observed across the board otherwise private institutions can be the shelter and safe havens for oppressors and violators of the law without consequence.

Pushing dangerous drugs on people isn't illegal when they do it. Our constitution is merely a suggestion.

Somehow i dont feel any more at ease knowing my employer couldn't make the jab a condition of employment. That beast called government, and all the workings behind it is what concerns me.

How can an employer mandate how I govern my health? I take great exception to this, my employer cannot mandate how much I exercise, what vitamins I take etc. If an employer can mandate a vaccine, will they dictate how often and in what positions my wife and I have sex? What type of birth control we use? Our level of enjoyment? How many kids we will or will not have? Surely, we must have individual rights and privileges? If not, why be obedient to Canadian laws? If my employer can become my master, the hell with that! I thought slavery was illegal? When did that change???????

You're right, but it's illegal for an employer to ask your vaccine status and it's coercion and assault, unless it's in the employment contract and specifically agreed to. Note the word "agreed" .

Apparently the charter of rights and freedoms now means you have the right to do what you're told and the freedom to smile and say "please sir may I have another" Sunny ways, sunny ways

But, when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security. “Those that have the ability to take action, have the responsibility to take action” 🧐

Well here in the real world where the rest of us live, the constitution applies to everyone, not just the government, your right about one thing though, the government are not our employers, they are our employees.

So the constitution needs to be amended!!!!

There was a theory I had on this. Basically, as in some cases, the employer has used the excuse that the government allowed them to. However, the government cannot allow a company to do what the government itself is not allowed to do. Peter Hogg is the source on that, in a case that slips my mind at the moment. Most of these companies are thinking that they can do it only because they feel the government has given them permission.

It's called a Charter of Virtue Signals to ideals that aren't actually recognized rights... such as property rights for example, Canada can be thought of as "already communist" in that respect, not just because they let Jack Layton, the king of communist quotes during question period, serve as MP. (don't wonder why a clear decade of video from question period is missing!)

The government can never "require" anyone to get a medical procedure,we are all of the same humanity,therefore what you say is a moot point.

@antitrudeaureset1628

Maybe so but it's the federal government who allowed and encouraged private sector employers to change their hiring and job requirements and allowed them to create in-house vaccine mandates or you lose your job.
