In the Philippines we make sure to not “wound” the red bit inside when peeling because if you do it gets bitter! What you do is to just peel the flesh part surrounding the red part with a knife, then remove the remainder carefully with your hands. We also dip it in salt, makes it taste sweeter 😊

The sweetest pomelos are in the southern region of the Philippines 🇵🇭
So sweet they have a sweetness like oranges but with a pomelo flavour. My dad knew they were my favourite so he would bring me some back but by huge sacks of them. 🙏🏽

You MUST try oro blancos- they are SO sweet and juicy you won’t need sugar. I discovered them ironically in Japan and later learned they were imported from Cali 😂

Grapefruit was my craving when l was pregnant with my son. After he was a few years old, we went out to eat for breakfast and grapefruit juice was on the menu. The waitress was surprised he drank his juice.
