In this #shorts video I teach you how to make silver bars at home. I have been pouring silver for many years and I have found that this method is the easiest when it comes to making silver bars for beginners. If you want to purchase the furnace that I use in this video here is the link:

I keep my crucible in my sock drawer and my furnace is on top of the refrigerator. Everyone has these right?

There's no way the coins are worth more when they're melted down.

That is how you thoroughly destroy the minted premium that is attached silver. You will now only ever sell it as scrap silver

Step 1, buy a 5oz bar instead of 5 1oz rounds, done!

So what's the point to pay a premium for coins just so you can melt them in bars which cost cheaper in the first place?

Aren't you afraid of someone using the purity gun and finding Trace elements of iron from the steel wool you use to clean it? Would they not then market it as 995 instead of triple 9 or quadruple 9 fine.

Started pouring a few months back but just got my numbers and letter stamps yesterday. Waiting on my custom "maker's mark" stamp to show up now!

I'll probably never be able to do this at my house, but hey, I enjoy seeing the process. Thanks!

if you are going to do this use sterling or other silver scrap. remember that some items are easier to trade or sell vs a bar you made at home.

I love this one! Besides the aesthetic value of making that pattern in the silver for those what want it, it reminds me of the old saying for many businesses: if you want to make a small fortune in this business, it's easy. Just start with a large one.

Ngl the rounds are worth more as coins because of the premium and recognizability of the Indian nickel design. Melting them down will bring you to spot price and most places will pay under spot for bars like that. Making bars only makes sense if you’re melting down old jewelry or something

What would you say is the percentage loss each time you melt down a batch of silver?

Coat the inside of that graphite ingot with 3in1 oil and just focus the heat towards the pouring metal better end results with a mirror finish straight out of the ingot 🤙

Really don't see the motive for taking perfectly good rounds and wasting any time or energy just to melt the rounds to make a ba I THINK I prefer the rounds. Also you have to spend money to buy everything you used there. BUT WHY?
