Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he had discussed the conflicts in Ukraine and West Asia with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, reiterating that the loss of innocent lives is not acceptable anywhere and solutions to conflicts cannot be found on the battlefield.
Modi had made similar remarks in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Tuesday.
Nehammer told reporters in Vienna it was important to him to hear India's assessment of the situation.
No questions were taken after the brief remarks.
