Absolutely it is biased towards white men! Which is wild as I see a lot of black boys and girls on the spectrum and of other races and genders too, it’s very upsetting to me that so much of our diagnostic criteria are not based on anyone but white boys or men for most anything!! Also I think your voice sounds soothing for some reason!

As a white chick w autism w a black parter who we believe is also likely autistic I just want you to know there as so many people who know your struggle is valid and are here to support you. Thanks for so proudly being a voice for the female and minority neurodivergence community!

Yes yes yes there is definitely an absence of representation of black people in the autism community. I hope that change in the future.

It took me almost 28 years to realize I was on the spectrum and not some extraterrestrial being . Navigating life is already hard enough as a black woman, you’re judged, mocked, stereotyped within and outside of your community and mistreated in almost every daily encounter you have with society, off the rip. God forbid you talk about your lived experience, and you’re accused of pulling the race card by the very same people who almost certainly believe in racial hierarchy and actively participate in prejudice …Coupled with an invisible disability, we really won the lottery 🥹 but we’re still here, still standing, in spite of all the odds. I say all this to say keep moving forward and never let your race or disability be the bane of your existence just because it’s someone else’s
