In this coin dealer video Harry shows how to remove milk spots from silver coins using a jeweler's cloth. Milk spots are small white spots that can appear on silver coins. Silver coins get milk spots because of the detergent used in the cleaning process before the coins were annealed. The detergent is baked into the coins which later down the road causes milk spots. If you want to remove milk spots from your silver coins only do it with bullion. Do not attempt this with any rare coins or coins with numismatic value.

Topics I cover in this video: silver coins, silver, milk spots, milk spots on silver coins, remove milk spots, how to remove milk spots, silver coins milk spots, silver coin milk spot, silver coin milk spots, silver coins with milk spots, silver maple leaf, silver maple leaf milk, silver maple leaf coin, silver maple leaf coins with milk spots, silver milk spot, silver coin, silver maple coin milk, milky silver coins, silver stacking, silver investing, silver bullion, silver bullion coins, silver coins with milk spots

I’ve found the best way to get rid of milk spots is to save a bunch of them up, then exchange them for gold! 😎

You need to be real gentle with the Eraser and it does take off the milk spots and if you do it right it doesn't leave micro scratches

You can remove milk spots with heat and time and not damage the coin

A Magic Rub eraser may work better. They’re used by artist. They don’t leave a residue like pink erasers do. Maybe a kneaded eraser. It’s an art supply too. It lifts graphite of paper kind of like a sponge lifting liquid.

I have a 9inchL×5inchW×7inchD Solid wood and Velvet lined Pirate chest that i throw all of my Scratched, Milk Spotted and Toned coins and bars into. It's nice to have a little bit of silver that you can play around with and don't have to worry about putting on gloves to hold, keep dehumidifed or in capsules. As for myself, i occasionally seek out Secondary market silver, dealers will sell them very close to spot melt price, and i kind of like the imperfections, it adds character to the silver.😊

Never understood people saying don't clean or use a cloth. The metal itself has a far high hardness level than a cloth and can scratch the metal. It can leave a residue but won't scratch

Idk about milk spots, because I don’t know much about coins, just the stuff my dad collected.. When he was cleaning up coins, and I know this sounds weird, but he used to use cigarette ashes. I know, lol, super weird but it worked.. He cleaned a lot of coins that way.
