The FED note USED to be currency when it had a promise to pay on it.
Now, it merely states 'This tender is legal', thereby indicating that you are FORCED BY LAW to accept a piece of paper in exchange for goods and services.
In other words, a 'dollar' has a threat written on it: accept this as 'money' or go to jail!
Is there a name for that kind of 'currency'?

I have tried to redeem my paycheck in gold and/or silver. I failed at a credit union and at a bank. I only received dollars and funny looks. I will have to see if there is a Treasury office in the town I live in. I could try there. I'll bring dollars and a check. On second thought, someone else must have tried this on video already. I could find a good strategy for success before I walk through the big front door of the Treasury.
