That’s our kitchen too! My hubs and I were never able to have kids or adopt due to my need for a kidney transplant due to a autosomal dominant kidney disease that has no cure I was born with. We live in a nice neighborhood but the houses are smaller starter homes or homes for people downsizing after their kids leave for college. The school system is one the best in the state so the bigger houses for bigger Clive families are crazy expensive. It’s always been Allen and Alicia and our hounds. It’s actually a 3 story 4 bedroom house with full garage for Allen’s camping, hunting , canoeing, kayaking and overlanding gear. There’s a bonus family room upstairs that I used for my craft/sewing/painting/calligraphy studio and there’s a tiny room off the bedroom that we use a an office. The rooms are not huge but easily fit king beds in most. But the kitchen is my nemesis. It’s on the 2nd floor and is a narrow galley style kitchen that run the full length of the side wall of the house. It’s only about 7 ft wide and a laundry room is at the end taking more space. I would,absolutely love to take down the walls between the foyer, formal dining room, galley kitchen and living room. I dabble in decorating ild love it make the cramped space feel so much bigger! We have a huge yard that’s fenced but the kidnchen I jut too tight for both of us to cook together. Not enough for counter space either. It’s a perfect size for two adults maybe 1 child and 2 large Sighthounds. It need some home improvement which which is planned soon. We live 2 streets up the hill from hubs parents home and 1 street from SIL and new news. Perfect location for us as it’s 10min drive from UABMed Center where my transplant program and ADPKD Specialist.
