Safety is one thing, insanity is another. If the gun is clear, it’s clear. Relax.

I sware to god that some gun enthusiasts believe a bullet will teleport into their gun even after they have visually confirmed that the thing is clear.

Once you clear and physically and visually check the chamber there is nothing wrong with this, ofc there is a time and place for everything

Old truck, vietnam style AR, M1 garand in hand, but anti-"fudd" knowledge. Fantastic

My grandfather, who was a WWII veteran that fought on Okinawa, told me that they not only looked down the bore but also, would use their thumbnail on the orher end to reflect a little light and they would actually be able to see the rifling and how clean or dirty the rifle was. I've tried this myself and was surprised at how well this actually works.

Be careful. Not paranoid.

It’s OK to be uncomfortable with the barrel of a firearm being pointed at your face. Unloaded or not. If it always has an effect on you, then you will never become complacent. Good videos thanks man.

When people freak out when you have your finger in the trigger guard of s single action handgun with the hammer down makes me role my eyes.

Same people that get prissy about looking down the bore never checked their suppressor alignment either lol

Yeah, we learned that in Canada. That’s how we inspect every bore on every rifle it is the best way to see all the way down

Ive got strange looks doing this. My favorite way to test bores is to visually inspect it then stick a bullet tip in the muzzle. Do that with basically everything.

Stick a piece of paper on the rear of the chamber and look down the barrel. The white reflects light and gives you a clear view.without the glare.

I know it's safe, but it still makes me feel uneasy

Can't inspect a cleared gun but certainly watch the silent drill. I agree with you.

Locked open chamber clear , is a loose cartridge gonna jump in and bring the bolt forward and pull the trigger by itself ? Personally I use a note light .

If you're inside you can take your phone light and shine it in the receiver and it'll give you enough light to see anything wrong. Also 100%, guns clear, bolt is back, mag or clip out, look down that barrel.
