Thatās the paradox of fighting chaos. If you know something exists but canāt see it you are basically just believing it is there, which they feed upon and so can be sustained.

This point works to a point, until you remember the emperor told Corvus everything about chaos. Not only was Corvus never tempted, never even considered turning traitor, and is now arguably one of the strongest primarchs in the setting with his warp powers, shows that maybe SOME knowledge to the primarchs would have been beneficial.
