Did you know you can cook and eat the center of the stems of the artichoke? They kinda have a texture similar to the meat you bite off the leaves, except a little more firm. Really tasty, I recommend it!

Celery, garlic, along with the lemon & a bit of olive oil really flavors them nicely during the cooking process.

I’ve never tried purple artichokes before. I like adding a little horseradish to my dipping sauce. So good!

This is rly neat, am so happy you posted! 😊 I love cooked artichokes but the one time I tried preparing them by steaming they were still so tough. Will definitely give boiling a go soon! ☺️🫶

Saving this! I used to love eating these but I've never cooked one myself. Thank you for sharing.

I prefer steaming them but regardless, I love to see artichokes get some love. Too many Americans don’t use them to their full potential!

Related, yet unrelated….have any of you ever seen an artichoke bloom? It is one of the prettiest flowers ever! If you have not ever seen it, look it up. I was surprised to learn that they were a flower!

I actually love almost any steamed or roasted veggie dipped in mayo. I like to add a drizzle of aged balsamic onto my mayo dip:)

This looks good but try it my way. After you boil them put a salt, pepper, garlic, lemon juice and olive oil mixture on top of the artichokes and then straight to the oven for some time like 10min or less and boom it’s the best thing!!

I’m devouring artichokes right now. They are so so so good. In Oregon they are green. Haven’t seen the purple. Yum.

Steaming them is better than boiling. My mom used to steam artichokes a lot for us as kids. They are very beneficial for the liver
