I finally have to disagree with you. The PK-80 ladder leveler legs from Werner are the best. You need to install them but after that they are there on the ladder and good for both angles. Used them for 25 years and there’s no comparison. Or you could by a “Pivot” tool from the paint store that is the same triangle but it’s made out of plastic and has rubber tracks on it. Can be used in pairs for ladder jacks. That fix is for amateurs

Nope. Very risky with that wide board on loose soil. Use your hammer to dig the high side. It'll take much less time than building that thing you did.

When I was a painter we had special latters with adjustable legs to different lengths and and angles... you could just buy one of those.
