When my sister was little, my parents had door knob covers to keep her from leaving her room. The truth is, it never worked. She literally just broke them in half and walked out. It was so funny because she got in trouble and was in her room for punishment, and she screamed then went silent. A few seconds later. She walked out and joined us in the living room leaving the two half’s of the ‘child-proof’ door covers sitting on the floor in front of her room 💀

Man. My sister's house was like this, then ours for visits. Very annoying. My twin nephews didn't figure them out, though; they generally didn't care enough once they saw the childproofing past a certain point. What you'd get instead was them asking for help with it.
