This has happened to me multiple times. The first time, I didn’t know any better and showed up to the property. It looked like people were home so I knocked on the door. The homeowner hadn’t requested the service so I left.
Since then, I’ve implemented a 30% upfront deposit if the customer is not on site, only payable by card or PayPal. It weeds out the scammers. In general, if a customer seems suspicious or troublesome, they usually are.

I had a similar situation happen to me for pressure washing a house. Turns out it was a scammer. The house was real but they didn’t get any info from me. Yes be careful! Cool videos bud!

Why would people scam you by having you clean someone elses house for free? Theyre going to send you a fake check for too much money and ask you to send them the difference. Theres no reason not to accept cashier's checks. Just do it in person or cash it before you start worm
