You can do 11 in an Enfield. In fact, they used the magazine cutoff to do this for volley fire, so they wouldn't waste the capacity of the magazine, and just do single shot.

I have a German Mauser, a swedish Mauser and a Turkish Mauser. I am hard on all of them. They are the most durable weapons I've ever owned

As a swede I can confirm that you can load a swedish mauser with 6 rounds without long term problems💯

I've said it before, this guy is great. He's eloquent, concise and very well read. Talented teacher. Could listen to him all day.

Keep the informational vids coming, great job passing knowledge on to those who want it. You're good at doing these. I know because I was an instructor in the Army.

I was really tempted by these rifles 30 years ago when they were $39. In 1916, while in the Swedish Army, my grandfather won the rifle shooting match. It was a big mistake. He got issued a carbine with a 10 round magazine and put on the Kings' Palace Guard. It was terrible duty.

This can be done a little easier with my "American Mauser" since it has a magazine cut off switch.

That's pretty cool, I just got one of these and I've been trying to learn everything I can about them.

That "Long Term" problem could be a "short Term" problem any day. LOADS OF TEARS

If you hold the five down with the 6th all the way back it will sneak in under the claw extractor with no claw stress

Push the bolt forward, then squeeze the tail end of the extractor toward to bolt to hold the blade out a bit helps

When you break the locating lug off your extractor claw.. then no extraction..

Even though the old Mausers, arisakas 1903 Springfield's and such are outdated compared to modern rifles theyre still pretty fun to shoot and to hunt with as well

My father used to hunt when I was younger with him back in the 90s with a 7 mm Swedish Mauser, he love that gun

Ive an m96 Gustav (sporterized and scoped) that has seen a Lot of rounds. Those bolts and recievers had a bit different metal that is realy hard. Mine has a groove where the extractor claw has worn into the bolt body. She's been cycled a hell of a lot of times. My as issued Husquevarna m38 was stamped 1st grade (minimal wear) at last armourers inspection. Shes a sweety in all respects. Fabulous rifles and calibre.

You were actually supposed to do this with the magazine cutoff on the M1903. Single shot rifle with magazine reserve. I’d have no problem doing this to an ‘03. Other rifles, can’t say
