Check out the what a real message might sound like on Morse code. This is effectively a Morse code sound effect, with interference, noise and fading - this is how a real signal might be copied on the short wave bands.
Fading, interference and noise are experienced on virtually every signal on the short wave bands, and this Morse code sound effect shows just how it might sound.
For many years Morse code was used over the radio because it provided a very effective way of sending messages for ships, for the military and for general communications as well as for radio amateurs.
The Morse code sound is easy to copy, even at very low levels and this was one of its major advantages. In fact, Morse code sounds can be heard on various sections of the short wave bands tot his day.
The Morse code message sent on this shorts video reads "This is a Morse Code message"
