I really enjoy the irony in a lot of WH40k factions and characters. The Thousand Sons, trying to change fate, had to accept it in the end. Tzeentch, the Changer of Ways, always knew that the Thousand Sons were fated to be his Chaos Space Marine Legion.

The thousand sons are full of tragic characters. Everything from Ahriman trying to cure his brothers from the flesh change to even Magnus who tried to do everything that he could but unknowingly was the pawn of the master of plans
