Surprisingly decent guitars for the money. I wish these guitars would have been an option for me in the 60’s and 70’s when I was learning. Choices back then for beginners were dime-store Tiesco or Sears Silvertone guitars. The other option was Fender or Gibson. Kids and most adults could not afford those.

Historic brands have no choice but to improve their products. CNC machines that are accurate to the millimeter are no longer worth much. Many unknown brands now make very good entry-level guitars: SX guitars, Jet Guitars, Harley Benton etc...

You could do a lot worse, for a lot more money, too.

The first few years of the Squiers were astounding. Japan made and actually better than US models at that time. I am partial to those 3 bolt large headstock models; and they are very collectible, and sought out now. After about 10 years of production, quality was dodgey, but there were still high points. But it really all comes down to what you like. I can re-create a '54 strat just by using vintage wood in the construction. Among other things, its all down to nuance. Its fun finding out how sublime, but also how insanely bad, things can be. πŸ†—πŸ˜ŽπŸ†’πŸŽΈπŸŽΌ

Could you share what the issue was with the trem system. Didn’t know anyone took the trems on Squiers seriously. Might have to relook at mine.

The trend can be fixed on any guitar. It's a matter of setup. I have squiers that have amazing set up terms, you just gotta fidget with it alot until you fully understand the mechanic of it
