THIS LITTLE TIP WILL CHANGE YOUR SOUND πŸ‘ˆπŸ»

For every part of the production process, you need a different template to start off with πŸ‘‡πŸ»

For example, the production template will have your drums, your samples and everything you need to actually produce the track πŸ’»

The mixing template will have all your rooting, your favourite plugins, also you want to export everything that says MIDI to audio tracks, so that you're mixing stems which will make sure you're not going backwards in the process πŸ‘πŸ»

Then with mastering, you want to be thinking about the stereo, not the individual channels so make sure you have a separate template for that to avoid you going back to any mixing πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ’»

If you don't have a mixing or mastering template then I would suggest you take one of my accelerator courses and you'll get them for free as part of the course πŸ₯³

I just do everything in the same project file. Makes recalls later on also easier. But on very rare occasion can be a dog on the CPU as all the FXs on each channel and then mastering plugins on the master buss. But I prefer it this ways. Sometimes during mastering something could be causing an issuing, so instead of "going back" to the mix. I can just do it right there in the project it self.

Iv used templates for my production stage since iv started and many people thought I was weird or off. Just a basic hi hat in 2 patterns, a kick in 3 patterns including build up for drop and snare in 3 patterns. So creativity can start straight away. Got basics right there. Once you know we're your going then just change all drum samples. If needed. Mixing I do from scratch as I find each track is different so find it better that way, mastering templates I have several, but again may not work and do it from scratch. Always big tips from the man like streaky. Nuff ❀

There is nothing against mastering and mixing within the same project. There is nothing against mixing against a (external) mastering bus either. Furthermore you also mix against group busses, which are an intermediary. Or even with modern mixing against a hierarchy of (multiband) compression side chains. The best mixes come from being a master at them in parallel.

I think the ONLY advantage to be Full range producer is that you can go back to the production process at any time. and fix the problem exactly where it sit whereas polishing a turd to compensate an error of enveloppe or writting in the production stage for exemple.

I can understand how you mean what you explain in your video, but a big problem is that the music production cannot be found by others in the first place because the YouTube algorithm ensures that you get less than 5 views per month. All this is very unfair, because there are also people who get over 5,000 views after 2 to 3 hours without any problems. I've set up a small label where I want to showcase the music that's been deleted and lost by artists who don't have a contract and I'm not getting any views on YouTube at all

Rooting or routing? However, great sidekick advices as always! 😊

β€œRouting” not rooting lol unless this is some British thing I’m not aware of. Like using an β€œs” for normalization, or a β€œu” in color. Good tips though Streaky! I’ve been compartmentalizing the editing separate prior to the mixing stage and it’s really helped my workflow. Like the phase alignment and any pitch or volume correction amongst other things to save my CPU.
