You're paying $250 to play alone, paying the base $50 will allow you to play on their servers until they go broke next year. You can play on their servers, with them paying for bandwidth with just the base game, they find this solution better.

I bought Tarkov a bit back but only the lowest value edition. Never even played it because cheaters and shady company tactics just disgust me.

A few friends and I have recently started a new wipe on spt offline servers and it’s been a blast. so much better than actual tarkov, stress and cheater free. Very enjoyable for those who just want to play the game. Don’t have to spend the $250 for it either.

Hot take. I was thinking the same when I first heard it, but what if it's a way for BSG, to make live harder for cheaters? I mean, most cheaters you run into is normal acc's, maybe this way you will encounter less standard acc's, which is less cheaters. And you also can't buy EOD any longer, so cheaters will always have low prioty matchmaking. Just a thought of mine.
