I feel wheel size is base how ruff the terrain you train to go over. 54mm is skate park wheels. for me I go off the 1/4 rule when comes bumps in the road and gaps. so 15mm gap you want 60mm wheels. For 20mm bump you want 80mm wheel. general sidewalks that new get away with 60mm wheels. old one end need 70 to 80mm because some of sidewalk squares end getting raised up.

i think how wide the contact patch is probably the most important thing imo. it determines how it rolls, slides, scoops, and grips
