Did u ever go to jail for kissing a woman? Why are you using references that you (most likely) havent experienced yourself? The thing is, im not disagreeing with what your meaning to say about how homophobia is still around. It just feels like the message get a little lost along the way when your examples are ones that dont happen (at least in this country) anymore and on top of that, you havent had to deal with the "trauma" you are mentioning qbout the jail time and ousting. If you referenced an occurrence that people actually have to deal with and face day to day, I bet the point would hit home for a lot more people. I respect your point of view and on some level even agree with you about the phobia still being around. You just linked it with a practice that isnt seen in America anymore. Just some honest constructive criticism.

Also homophobia is definitely still alive and well. Just go under a post of any queer content creator and youâll see it đ and as a queer person myself in a country where homosexuality isnât criminalized, Iâm still not comfortable is partaking in pda with my partner because you never know whoâs on that red pill đ.

Itâs funny cuz people still h a t e that queer people are represented in the media. I deal with a family member that does not like queer individuals being in shows or advertisements. Claims sheâs worried about her children đ She also believes queer people are against nature. SoâŚitâs wild to say we donât deal with issues still.

Yeah youâre right âused toâ go to jail. Not anymore. As a member of the lgbt community people need to stop complaining that we arenât accepted because we are in todays day and age. Grow up and stop victimising yourself over things that happened decades ago and probably even before you were born. Thank you.

it is so sad that it it is still present today. yeah its gotten better but there are still ppl who dont accept and in some countries its illegal to be a same sex couple. also i used to live in texas where the government is transphobic. we havent fixed the issues with acceptance yet but i really hope we do soon.

Iâm a queer Person myself and absolutely agree with you that queer people suffered for centuries due to their sexual orientation and identity. However, I do not think that the trauma these people had to experience is something a âmodern queerâ should claim for themselves. Yes, there still is homophobia embedded in our society but as a individual living in the modern west I am aware of how good I can live. Gay people have the same rights as straight people. Yes it took time which was too long and yes there are still homophobic assholes out there who need to educate and better themselves but I am so tired of folks in our community victimizing us and not recognizing how good we can outlive our sexuality nowadays. No, I do not carry the trauma of thousands of queer people who suffered. My sexuality is not my identity and I am glad to say that I am not oppressed.

Not to mention the nearly 500 anti-LGBTQ+ bills currently under review across the US. But sure, everything is fiiiiiine.
