I love how, even in his dying moments, Kauregar still calls Angron âlordâ and âfatherâ. Angron even refers to him by his name, and as his son. He doesnât hate Angron for what he did, and he dies not in the arms of a murderer, a butcher, he dies in the caring embrace of his loving father.

Angron once again proving to be the best traitor Primarch. He doesn't hate his sons for standing against him, he respects their defiance. They are just like him- fighting against a father they think has done wrong, and willing to fight and die for this belief. He respects this because they are just like him just on the other side of the coin.

Angron is still a slave to the butcher's nails (and now Khorne). Not saying that the EMP was a good Dad but Angron didn't have only one master.
Edit: he may have not chosen to serve khorne but he didn't really choose to serve the big E. He still is a slave to him however unwilling that may be.

I love the idea that Angron smiled when he realized Kauregar had actually given him a wound. That he was actually proud of all of them, even if they didn't understand why he was against the Emperor.
I do wish there'd been a confrontation between Angron and Horus though, where Horus assumes Angron is loyal to him and gets corrected in a similar fashion.
"No. Do not mistake me, Horus. I care not for your whining little rebellion against that Man. MY fight with him is not the same as yours. We might be aligned against him now, but I will NEVER bow to anyone ever again. Not Him... and not YOU."
Before stomping off to lead his World Eaters into battle, leaving Horus frustrated that Angron isn't even nominally under his control... and relieved that he didn't have to fight him because there'd be little chance of him winning against the Red Angel.

Considering that Big E literally kidnapped him when he came to recruite the guy, Angron kinda has a point about being a slave to the Emperor. Course he's wrong about being free now, but he wasn't wrong about the Emperor.
I dunno who wrote Angron's backstory but kidnapping Angron instead of fighting beside him was definitely one of the biggest moments of stupidity for the Emperor.

Everyone talking about the tragic irony of Angron being enslaved by the nails, his rage, and Khorne. Thatâs true but I think at the start of the heresy until his ascension to Daemonhood I think Angron did had a brief respite. Then Lorgar had to ruin it by doing the ritual to turn him into a demon prince instead of letting him die free and finally be released. So itâs Lorgarâs fault, and if thatâs the case then we all know itâs Erebusâs fault too.
