What I Will Be Doing Differently With My Hair

👩‍🦰
Are you in? I will be using this month to get more consistent on giving my hair the daily TLC it needs. Dry finger detangling, applying oils and butters to my ends (because, Canadian winter, ahem) and taking care of myself. I will also be using this time to get back into regular use of Ayurvedic herbs, because I have a few more split ends than I would like and I am going to use a DIY Ayurvedic hair strengthening spritz on my ends to heal and prevent this. I just made this with two herbs I happened to have on hand - amla and aloe vera powder. I didn't follow a recipe but it was approximately 2 tsp amla, 1 tsp aloe vera, and 2 cups water. I poured this through a paper towel to filter out the sediment and put into a spray bottle. 💕

I have been utilizing a similar hair care regimen for quite a few years now, even before I found your channel. I am a functional wellness coach who has been using non-toxic, mostly homemade, edible, self-care products for years. That said, I found that your program has leveled up my already all-natural healthy hair care routine significantly. I only wash my hair about once a month, but during the challenge I am washing it more often, to see if it makes a difference for my scalp health.

I'm loving the use of taking some ayurvedic herbs as well as using them for my scalp oil, drinking the hair tea( your recipe), and making a formula of ayurvedic shampoo bars. I'm enjoying this immensely! ❤

Thanks for the encouragement for the selfcare in general too, that’s what I’m trying to figure out. Hair comes last for me unfortunately so I think adding a focus for the hair this month will be cool to see what happens!

Hello Katherine! I've been utilizing a lot of the hair care instructions you talk about and it's been very helpful for me! Thank you for putting out such good content! One thing I'm curious about is the routine you use to do scalp massage. Do you have a video explaining this step by step?

I want to use a natural scalp scrub with sugar, oil en acv. I saw this recipe online. Do you recommend doing a scalp scrub? I have wavy/curly fine hair. ❤😊

I started before the 30 day challenge and have used clay wash with acv rinse several times already. I then rinse the acv out as well. That process is leaving my hair with an oily film in it. Im not using the oil treatment before the wash because of this. Any ideas on what could be causing that or how i can fix it?

Should I use oil every night when I do the scalp massage?

Any suggestions for an alternative base for the herbal oil for oily hair? Can I use coconut oil? It seems to agree with the humidity here in Florida really well. Using that I had my first experience of finger combing that didn't end with me either looking like a clown or flattening my curls. Thinning the clay mixture has by far made the biggest difference but I'm still losing handfuls on the regular
