I honestly would not be doing this for everyday. Now maybe trying to hit a sign up bonus, then yes. Organically spending and then maybe adding a couple of gift cards here and there does not hurt. There is now L3 data that the stores release to credit card companies that let them know if you are purchasing a lot of gift cards. Also depositing money orders into your bank account could bring up a red flag.

There's a very good chance that this is specifically prohibited in the credit card contract. In which case, collecting points for it might constitute fraud.
