Good work. Ignore the haters. Your house, your doors, do what you want. Handy tip for cross cutting to avoid splintering is to first score just above the cut line with a sharp blade, perfect clean cuts every time ๐

Great video. Tip. When patching and priming you need a medium flex wire brush and gently etch the patches to mimic the grain you patched over so your repairs blend in and you will never see or feel it. One more step but you go from novice to craftsman with the details

Semi gloss white and you need to paint all the trim in the house to match. Use blue painters tape and score before cutting no need to fill. Also paint door off the hinges get door supports. The comments here are so gracious by the way and supportive

If youโre going through the trouble of trying to make $5.00 doors look like $10.00 doors, may as well drill a couple holes on the edges and fill them with spray foam for a little better noise insulation.

Good idea, very creative! I cringed a little when your fingers were close to the blade, i know it was only barely sticking up, but still a slip or trip or who knows and your hand or fingers may land on the blade. But i do appreciate the effort!

Doors look more expensive when the door frames and joining floor molding are painted the same color; a cream white/simi-gloss, but great job, looking ๐

You won't have to fill "blemishes" with putty if you just use painters tape on the door before drawing the line, cut thru the tape and when you remove it you'll have a clean cut (no blemishes). ๐ฎ

Hey, I'm not a interoir decorator but I think it would look cool if you painted the door in a similar color, which would match the trim. Now, if you're painting the door trim and the jam, I would go with a white trim with a light pastel grey or green color door, then paint the grooves with a darker color. BTW, nice touch on this door.
