Capsule wardrobe just means you can mix and match any top to any bottom and have shoes and outerwear that work with most of those outfits! What you’re doing is layering which is an entirely different thing! Why would one wear so many layers if it’s not cold enough? I don’t get it!!!

I live in London and capsule wardrobe works for me. I only have short sleeve blouses. In the winter I use a very thick jacket to go outside and in the summer I just wear a mid season jacket. I don't get what you mean with the layers. Can you explain?
