VerklÀrte Nacht for the moment, the ones afterwards are too complex for me still. One thing I can appreciate though is his books: Harmonielehre and Style and Idea are my favorites.

Have just seen Im Mo Yang and Huang Sam Hong perform the Fantasy for Violin and Piano on you tube. I saw the New Zealand premiere of this work performed by the late Michael Wieck in 1963 at the Cambridge Summer Music School. What a super composer.....my favourite works of Schonberg are the very conservative early string quartets.

Piano Concerto op.42! No matter how many times I listen to it I never get bored! It's a bit too complex sometimes though it's not exactly easy listening music đ
