The boxter Spider is one of my all time favourite Porsches, i would be more than happy doing this.

I’d be so scared of it creasing every time I put it away! Jeez.

Plenty easier than removing an old 9i4 hard roof.. Progress.. LoL . Cheers,

Manual tops are fine, as long as you can raise and lower them from the driver’s seat. If you have to walk around the car to raise the top, you’ll regret it the first time you get stuck in a rainstorm with the top down.

Rather have a manual one over electronic one, have seen way too many people not be able to put it up again because the motors burned out

"Everything else from here on is a manual process" (3 steps) -unclipping buttresses, splits disc lifting lifts boot folds canopy. Not sure if this comes under a 1st world problem or not? Is it even an issue.

It is such a non issue. In fact, the roof process is part of the brilliant Spyder experience. Spyder RS is a different kettle of fish though, and that does look a faff 😵‍

Not being funny, but your video made it seem a lot more straightforward than other videos I’ve seen addressing this issue.

…and the prices are plummeting too. Reasons to be cheerful (as long as you don’t own one).

Troublesome or not, it IS beautiful. Kind of like some women I know.

I would be grateful to have this dream of a car. Humanity is never satisfied 😮

If you change your mindset ever so sightly, it will change your experience massively. Think of it as a pre-flight check, foreplay before the enjoyment of the drive that awaits you.

Being an ex SLC owner I am perplexed as to why you would find this acceptable, be it ten years ago or worse today.. 😂

The FOB has a button to release or re-catch the latch while standing outside, so it's not as big a deal he's making it out to be. I've seen the entire process done in 20 seconds total.

Porsche need to buy an MX5 and see how Mazda made a soft top that can be raised or lowered in a couple of seconds, single handed.

Better manual as no electric motors to go wrong
