When the rate says 115 dollars per night. But the actual bill comes out to 498 per night with cleaning and every fee under the sun!

Funny. I launched one in September and it’s doing beautifully. Came out of the gate strong even with out reviews. Why be so negative?
An upside to a property in a slump and isn’t giving a decent cash flow, or maybe even no positive cash flow, is that there’s still an increase in its appreciation and equity is building.

I would say , you have to become creative. 1. Word of mouth 2. Discount your stays during off season. 3. Introduced yourself to a traveling medical service and offered reduced long term stays 10 days and longer. Senior discounts ( you are guaranteed) they are not partying. 😂

This really shouldn’t come as a surprise to people that have used AirBnb. The fees are just out of control, plus having to clean up the rental afterwards. Seems like a better deal/experience to go with a hotel

Not true depending the location lady.
I have properties in downtown San Diego close to convention center close to Gaslamp and those properties not necessary are for vacation travelers mostly my guests come for work. You have to be very smart to choose location.

Nope! Vacation market in Smokey’s here and we’re doing great. Even our January, which is considered a slow month, is 60% booked. Airbnb shouldn’t be your sole platform. Look toward direct booking sites like Houfy to attract guests. They do not charge reservation fees.

Or... Price your listing at a reasonable amount and provide the best possible experience for the guests. I went live on my first listing in October and have had a 98% occupancy average since then. I treat it like a business and not a side hustle. THAT'S what makes the difference.

Back it the day… like a year ago if your Airbnb was say $400 per night before fees $$485 with fees…. Now it’s $400 before fees and $2,800 with fees….

Honestly, air b and b is so expensive that I choose not having a kitchen and book a hotel room! The cleaning fees are higher than a night’s rent!!!! I always think why? How much cleaning does this place need? As guests, We are instructed to take out the garbage and do this and do that. The place is clean expect for a cleaning of the bathroom and sheets before the next guests come in… it’s just getting out of hand and I do prefer a hotel room …

Yes, people are not traveling as often; however, people ARE renting more during the recession. Just rent out your air bnb on 6 month leases🙃 sure you wouldn’t make as much money as you would if it was booked up all month. But you’ll still be making ends meet when it comes to your mortgage paymen

Air bnb was always an affordable alternative to hotels for families , not anymore. The Millenials who saw this as a get rich scheme destroyed the air bnb model, making it ridiculously expensive while expecting guests to do the house keeping.while being charged for housekeeping. We recently stayed at an air bnb the owner rationed things like toilet paper, paper towels and dish washing detergent, expecting us to stock her condo. Sorry we priced out multiple rooms at a full service hotel, so after 24 years of being loyal customers to air bnb we’re out. It is half the cost for us to get multiple adjoining suites, than stay at air bnb. Thanks for letting greed ruin a good thing.

#5 It's super expensive! When a nice hotel is cheaper than AirBnB...I think AirBnB should go back to its roots.
