Cant hear any difference at all, are you sure that the YouTube clip did record the audio from the same channel that you are switching on/off in the video?

Isnt that gonna make the snare hit the limiter even harder and cause more DBs of gain reduction? Which will make u upper the threshold of the limiter and come back to where u started?

I’d much rather reduce the dynamic range with a clipper or such, so that the compressor / limiter doesn’t see it and clamp down on the snare hits
