This is my 3-month update for my newest incision. This was done open due to scar tissue I had from other procedures. I was so grateful they were able to remove my fallopian tube and recovery has been fairly smooth!

Hi, I'm Maggie and I have Crohn's disease. I am thrilled to be here sharing my personal experiences with Inflammatory Bowel Disease as well as living with an ostomy. I'm proud to share a little bit from a clinical experience as well, having worked as a GI pediatric nurse and ostomy telehealth nurse. I am so glad you are here. โ™ฅ #ibd #crohnsdisease #ostomy

Iโ€™ve been following your story but somehow missed that you had to have your stoma moved! Omgโ€ฆ how traumatic. I am a 26 year survivor of colorectal cancer. Sharing your story via YouTube about life with an ostomy is helpful for current & veteran survivors. We have a silent disability which is difficult to speak about even with oneโ€™s closest friends & family. Thank you SO much for doing this channel and educating people! Wishing you much health & happiness. ๐Ÿ™

Your new scar looks incredible ! Also, donโ€™t panic if the stitch knot eventually works its way outta there. Happened to me and my docs freaked out but it is super common. OMG i would also be so unwilling tol let them modify Leroy since you have such a good relationship now! You are so freaking amazing, I hope you know that.

So happy you are doing well and can put this bump in the road behind you. โค I actually needed another surgery and they moved my stoma. Best thing they could have done. #1 was flush to the skin. Very difficult to work with and always leaked. #2 protrudes just the right amount and almost never leaks. โคโคโค

I had surgery going on 3 weeks now, I have no stoma, it sinks below surface plus itโ€™s in my waistline which makes having a stoma more of a problem. Im 71 and this is so life changing. I need a support group but have no idea where to start, maybe you could help me with that. Iโ€™m also stage 4 fatty liver cirrhosis, when it rains it pours๐Ÿ˜ข

Your scar will definitely fade. I had a hysterectomy 17 yrs ago & you can barely see my scar. It actually faded within a couple of years.

2 years ago I had a total hysterectomy with oophorectomy . I had had a prior proctocolectomy with ileostomy back in 1985 so was very comfortable with my stoma. Instead of a new scar, the surgeon reopened my old midline incision , removed the adhesions and did the new procedure. I have recovered well, but I notice I get more gassy than I have ever been and have begun to gain weight. I guess that's normal. Anyway, I say this to say, life can throw some real stinkers our way, but it is possible to have strength and face it head on. Life can be good.
