Plagiarize allegation is not just about copying choreography. Thera are too many aspect in illit that is overlapping with newjeans. 1. Main Concept : definitely high teen with teenagers members. Another prove is photos concept , giving fresh teenage vibe. Some even exactly the same from the all 5 members looking at one direction (not camera), to hanbok concept, to photos infront of store with similar pose. 2. Song : genre wise different but they aim the same level of more simple and lowkey type of song. Not the usual maximalist kpops songs 3. Marketing strategy: debuted in fashion event 4. Dance : obviously you all have seen the compilation of many newjeans choreo from many of their songs showing up all in their debut. And them debuting under the same agency entertainment is definitely any sane higher ups rookie mistake. SM or jyp wouldnt do that bcs they know it could cheapen the novelty of one's group. Yg imo clearly recycling concpet from 2ne1 to bp to baemon but it was past beyond the previous rookie time ( like baemon looks like bp rookie time with bit differences , and so bp to 2ne1. But bp rookie and bp now is much different so no overlap btw bp and baemon now). But hybe??? Ok ing ANOTHER sublabel which is obviously managed by bang sihyuk (while he himself own one of the biggest share in Hybe) to debut a gg with so many similarities to newjeans which is from another sublabel. I dont know anyone sane who wouldnt be mad about it ? Especially if they are working in creative industry. If illit's approach is too reminiscent of NewJeans across these elements without adding significant value or differentiation, it could be perceived as copying. However, if they bring fresh ideas, unique features, or cater to a different audience, they could carve out their own niche in the market. But from their debut till now everyone who look at them or their sound will say ' oh just like newjeans!'
