I am an artist living and working in France. I learned the techniques of the Atelier of the Nineteenth century and now I try to share some of my knowledge with the rest of the world, because I think that beauty still has an important role to play in artistic creation. I do mostly drawing and oil painting, and my goal is always to provide techniques, thoughts and explanations that can be useful to anyone, from beginners to more advanced artists.

Veins look green/blue through the skin, so using those colors is a no-brainer in my opinion! Thanks for educating people on color and painting!

Bonjour Florent, ça c'est une très bonne information ! J'ai toujours pensé que le bleu et le vert utilisés pour les portraits étaient relatifs aux ombres uniquement. Mais aujourd'hui j'apprends qu'ils sont aussi relatifs aux gammes de rouges. Je pense qu'on peut essayer avec plus de bleus ou verts et différents rouges. Le terre verte (green earth) est beaucoup utilisé en peinture de portraits à l'huile. J'ai quelques difficultés à accepter le vert dans les portraits mais le Terre verte peut être très délicat. En peinture il faut être toujours prêt à se laisser surprendre !
