Fun Fact for the younger fans! This is also one of the many reasons 4Kids dropped One Piece and sold the rights to Funimation. In the original American release of the show that I first watched as a kid, the Laboon arc was deemed too inappropriate (despite this anime being aimed at preteens and teens, 4kids promoted it as a show for 6-10 year olds) sooo... they entirely removed the arc, replaced Laboons introduction with an iceberg and just had Vivi kinda appear. Rushing straight to the Whiskey Peak arc. Because of this, they just didn't know what to do about Brook or even Thriller Bark arc in general with it's creepy imagery or it's ramping up of the "not suitable for a younger audience" content, like Absolom literally sexually assaulting Nami. They sold the rights right at the start of the Skypea arc, the real kicker is that they had cut so much content out at that point that they reached Skypea in just 143 episodes. For reference, episode 143 in the proper release is still on the Rainbow Mist filler arc, right after Alabasta.
