Look at Bottasâs onboard, I promise your mind will change Romain. In my opinion there is few incidents more obviously deserving of a penalty.

Sorry, Romain I do not agree. Alonso moves right, left, right, left, right again to break the slipstream. He then commits to the inside line so he has to leave enough space for Bottas to take the outside but he then does one final weave towards the barrier not allowing Bottas to get along side. Then later in the straight he covers the inside again. Thats 6 movements in a straight. Slam dunk penalty.

If anyone watches the Indy 500, imagine IndyCar were to ban defensive weaving on the straightsâŠEricsson wouldnât have won because he wouldnât be allowed to defend. Itâs all about the slipstream at Indy, and trying to break it is part of the art and beauty which makes it âThe Greatest Spectacle in Racingâ.
Even more now with the new regulations, drivers should have leeway to break the tow-the cars follow so much closer and the DRS is massively OPâd for some of the teams. I get itâs in the name of safety, but weâre talking CAR RACING here, not modern-day basketball 100k fouls a game called. Let them race. Theyâre elite race car drivers in the safest, most sophisticated open-wheeled cars ever. I agree with the penalty. Shows the stewards aren't going to go easy on the drivers, and sets a precedent for the next races. After last year, we need the stewards to be quick and decisive, avoiding unecessary drama along the way.

Un temps ils veulent appliquer le rĂ©glement Ă la lettre, sans tenir compte des conditions, circonstance etc. Et la course d'aprĂšs ils vont dire "oui, mais c'Ă©tait pas intentionnel / il y a des circonstances attĂ©nuantes..." Ca et les Ă©curies qui, sembent-ils, jouent dans une coure de rĂ©crĂ© Ă prĂ©venir la maĂźtresse que untel Ă mis 3mm de sa roue sur une ligne blanche...
